Hurricane Net: The Hurricane Watch Net (HWN) activated today on 14.325 MHz, with plans to maintain operations on that frequency during the day and on 7.268 MHz after dark. The International Salvation Army Team Emergency Radio Network (SATERN) SSB net will go to Delta II (extended monitoring) status on Tuesday at 1400 UTC on 14.265 MHz to support Caribbean residents as Hurricane Maria passes through. The net will remain in session until 2300 UTC.

Mentorfest 2017

Club Elections & Dues
: September is our month for annual membership renewal and officer elections. Your participation is critical to the success of our association. Remember, you must renew your membership and pay your dues in order to vote.

Christmas Party: It's never too early to start thinking about our all important Christmas Party. We only have 3 club meetings left to plan for this annual event. Last year's party at Copper Kettle in Garland was a tremendous success. Charles, KE5RFS has volunteered to be the Chairman.

QSO Breakfast: Join us each Saturday at 8am for the weekly QSO Breakfast at the Starwood Cafe, 231 E. PM 544, Murphy. This is where SunnyStreet Cafe used to be.

Technician Class: Starting Aug 22nd. 7 pm each Tuesday Night for 6 week. Garland ECC (1027B Austin St, Garland). Donations are $30 for the manual and $10 for the class. Contact jmabbott@ix.netcom.com for more details
